Finn Harps continue their preparations for the promotion play-offs with a friendly fixture this evening against the Irish Army at the Coláiste Ailigh grounds in Letterkenny (kick-off 5.00). Manager Ollie Horgan is looking forward to the game and it gives him the opportunity to look at the team set-up ahead of their first play-off game which is on Friday the 12th of October away to either Shelbourne or Drogheda Utd. “It’s good to get a game at this time. We’ll be up against a decent side as the Irish Army always have plenty of talented players.
For us it’s a case of trying to keep a momentum going and while it’s friendly we want to keep the winning run going as well. We have used the facilities at Coaliste Ailigh for training at different times this season which has really been a big help to us. We really appreciate that support from Principal Michael Gibbons and his staff and we’re very happy now to be able to play this friendly game in appreciation” Horgan said. Harps player Keith Cowan is a member of the teaching staff at Coláiste Ailigh while another member of Horgan’s squad Aidan Friel is a Defence Forces employee based in Dublin and has played regularly for the Irish Army.
