Mark Farren Cup Final: Finn Harps U17s 1-0 Cork City
Daragh Ellison’s 88th minute penalty proved enough for the Finn Harps U17s to land the Mark Farren Cup title in Ballybofey. The Harps skipper, who has a good track record from spot-kicks, fired home after Gabby Aduaka had been fouled. It was a deserved triumph for Declan Boyle’s boys who were the better side throughout the decider. Winning the cup was also a recognition of the great work that is going on at underage level at Finn Harps F.C.
The magnificent achievement of Declan Boyle, his backroom team and players has been acknowledged by the Club. “Finn Harps F.C. wish to congratulate Declan Boyle, the squad and the backroom team on a great performance to win the Mark Farren Cup. The boys have done the club proud all season. They are second in the league and have had a great run in the Mark Farren Cup. This title is just rewards for their efforts all through the season. We hope now that Declan and his team can go on give Finn Harps further success in the knockout stages of the national competition.”
The Harps 17s who sit second in the Northern Elite Section of the National League, are home to Dundalk next Saturday. Dundalk are fourth and six points behind Boyle’s side. There is just two games to go then to complete the regulation season before the knockout phase of the competition commences.
