Talk of catching leaders UCD is not a matter for discussion as Finn Harps concentrate all their efforts on getting a victory over Galway Utd tomorrow night in Ballybofey (kick-off 8.00). That’s according to Harps manager Ollie Horgan who knows that Galway have to go all out for victory to have any chance of making the top four. On the other hand three points for the hosts at Finn Park would leave them almost certain of qualification for the play-offs.
“Yes we have UCD on Friday week in Belfield but our complete attention has been on Galway who have a huge amount of quality in terms of players with Premier Division experience. They are coming here tomorrow night knowing that only a win will be any good to them in terms of getting into the play-offs. We have beaten them twice this season but only just. It was 1-0 in Ballybofey when Jesse Devers got a late goal and down there it was 2-1. This is without doubt our most important match of the season and hopefully the players realise that from the work myself and Paul Hegarty has done with them this week. Getting turned over by Galway would leave us in a very difficult situation of having to go and try get something from UCD who are the top team in the division” Horgan said.
Harps welcome back central defender Sam Todd from suspension but Jacob Borg has emerged as a doubt. Mark Coyle continues to be troubled by an ongoing knee problem while Paddy McCourt has only resumed training in the past fortnight.
