Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan has a number of injury worries ahead of tomorrow night’s League of Ireland First Division meeting with Cobh Ramblers in Ballybofey (kick-off 8.00). “Things are getting more difficult for us injury wise and with a small squad it is looking like we will be really stretched squad wise tomorrow night. Gareth Harkin and Liam Walsh have been out for a while and won’t be available. Paddy McCourt is really struggling. He could hardly walk after the Shelbourne game and Mark Timlin travelled with us to Dublin but couldn’t play because of a hamstring injury. Ciaran Coll wasn’t fit to travel and then Keith Cowan picked up a hamstring strain during the Shels game. So they are all doubtful for the Cobh game. The only plus is that Aidan Friel is available again” Horgan said.
The Cork outfit has won their last two games so the Harps boss is expecting a really tight game against the visitors. “I genuinely think Cobh are in a false position at the moment. They are eighth in the table but I expect them to finish well above that at the end of the season. Darren Murphy and Anthony McAlavey are fine players going forward and Paul Hunt is a very experienced goalkeeper. We have to try and get three points from every home game but that won’t be easy and again we may be calling on a couple of the younger lads to step up to help get us a result” Horgan said.
Harps currently sit joint second in the First Division table alongside Drogheda Utd and Galway Utd. The trio are five points behind leaders UCD who have a game more played. Cobh are ten points behind Horgan’s men but will be looking to build on their improved form by securing at least a draw at Finn Park tomorrow night.
