Derry City’s Barry McNamee with Finn Harps players Eddie Dsane and Abrahim Keita with Declan Irwin Managing Director of Irwin Expert Electrical who are sponsoring the TV prize for the fundraiser game.

After that excellent way win over Limerick F.C. last Friday, Finn Harps are back in action tomorrow night in Maginn Park (kick-off 8.00) against Derry City in a big charity match to support the Inishowen Flood Relief Fund.

Harps manager Ollie Horgan says it is a huge opportunity for football fans to back a very worthy cause

“A lot of work has been put into this by ourselves, Derry City and the Inishowen League over the past 10 days so I would be calling on football fans from all parts of Donegal to come out and play their part in this fundraiser for those people in Inishowen who are enduring severe hardship because of that devastating flooding.” Horgan said.

On the game itself Horgan is likely to make a few changes from that hugely significant win in Limerick. Letterkenny teenager Shane Blaney could make a first senior start after he came on as a sub in Limerick. Blaney is a versatile player who can play centre-half, left-back or in the middle of the park. Other youngsters like B.J. Banda and Liam Walsh would also be expected to get some game time tomorrow night.

Packie Mailey will again be absent due to a hamstring injury and Paddy McCourt is a doubt due to a persistent hip problem but both Caolan McAleer and Gareth Harkin will return to the squad after not being available for the Limerick match due to suspensions.

Friday night’s charity game is a warm-up for the massive relegation clash with Sligo Rovers at Finn Park on Saturday week. “It was a big three points for us in Limerick but as I’ve said before we have to repeat that result against Sligo at home in order to have a chance of being in the mix to stay in the Premier Division” the Harps boss said.

Tickets priced at 10 euros are on sale in outlets across Donegal and Derry for tomorrow night’s charity game, which has an 8.00 kick-off at Maginn Park or fans can also just come along and pay at the turnstiles. And there will be an opportunity to make a bigger donation on the night if people so wish.
