Limerick F.C. 1-1 Finn Harps
Finn Harps had to settle for a share of the spoils against Limerick F.C. at the Markets Field this afternoon. It’s a result that Ollie Horgan would no doubt have settled for before the game, but having taken a 23rd minute lead courtesy of Sean Houston’s goal, his third in successive games, the Harps boss might have been a little disappointed at the final whistle.
However, the visitors were under pressure for much of the second half with Rodrigo Tosi heading home the equalizer in the 72nd minute. Subs Lee-J Lynch and Ian Turner combined with the latter’s cross being nodded easily past Gallagher by Tosi. Limerick really piled on the pressure in search of a winner after losing their previous two league matches. Harps keeper Ciaran Gallagher had to make a couple of saves in the first half to maintain the one goal advantage but still the Donegal outfit performed well.
Apart from the Houston goal the other key moment for the visitors was the good chance that Ciaran O’Connor failed to finish which just might have left the hosts with too much to do even though there was a long way to go in the game.
For the third game in a row Houston found the back of the net punishing an error by home goalkeeper Freddie Hall with Caolan McAleer providing the assist. Horgan made one personnel change from the win over Pat’s with Paddy McCourt starting in place of Jonny Bonner.
